Why Double Induction Hypnosis Works Better

But First, What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is purposeful thinking in a trance state similair to lucid dreaming. If you've ever had a lucid dream, you know the sensation of realizing you're dreaming and then having the ability to create whatever you want within that dreamscape. Being in a state of trance is similar, as you're in a semi-dream state where you can vividly imagine and exercise control over the realm of the unconscious mind. We often enter a state of trance multiple times a day without realizing it. For example, during highway hypnosis, you might arrive at your destination without remembering the drive. Similarly, when watching a movie, we can become so engrossed that we experience the emotions as if we're part of the film.

This natural state is perfect for reconfiguring trapped emotions and addressing beliefs that no longer serve us in our unconscious minds. We enter trances multiple times daily, often unconsciously, until someone points it out. Understanding and utilizing this state can allow us to make powerful changes to our emotions and belief systems.

Basic Hypnosis

Basic hypnosis involves guiding someone into a relaxed state with their eyes closed and offering suggestions intended to reach their unconscious mind, influencing their beliefs and emotions. The process typically involves the hypnotist using a soothing, slow tone to facilitate this state of relaxation, with the hope of creating positive change within the person's unconscious mind. (This is not always effective)

Double Induction Hypnosis

Double induction hypnosis is a technique that uses multiple voices speaking simultaneously. This creates an interesting effect: it splits the client's conscious and unconscious mind. Since our conscious mind cannot focus on two voices at once, it tends to concentrate on one voice, while the unconscious mind recieves the suggestions of the other. This leads to an instant trance, as the divided attention creates deeper relaxation.

The deep relaxation of the body is important in this process because a relaxed body promotes a relaxed mind, which in turn becomes more open to suggestions. Double induction hypnosis creates a positive feedback loop: as the body and mind relax more, the mind becomes more suggestible. This technique effectively engages the conscious mind with one voice, allowing positive messages to be absorbed by the unconscious mind, making it a powerful tool for influencing the unconscious mind directly.

Why Everyone Should Care About Hypnosis

We are influenced constantly by media and advertising, sometimes without even realizing it.

I believe it's important to consciously program our own unconscious mind. If we don't take an active role in shaping our thoughts and beliefs, external forces tend to shape them for us. By understanding how hypnosis works and using it deliberately, we can ensure that the messages influencing our subconscious align with our own values and goals.

Thanks For Reading This Post

Hypnosis changed my life. It not only allowed me to drain negative emotions trapped in past events; It helped me increase my self-esteem by giving me the courage to face myself, embrace myself, and accept who I am at my core so I can be me without giving a crap what other people think. I don't second guess myself now, and I'm my own best cheerleader inside (a far cry from my old toxic self talk, and self loathing).

I'm here when you're ready, and fully believe we are our own best medicine, we just need patient people that know how to help us remember.
